Tere jälle hea foorumi rahvas. Mul probleem välise kõvakakaga. Arvan, et see polegi niivõrd Linuxi, kui lihtsalt ketta enda probleem, aga kui siin juba olen, küsin siit nõu. Asi siis järgmine: varem ketas töötas ( WD Passport 160 GB) ilma igasuguste probleebidetta. Nüüd millegipärast ei taha käima minna. Ma ei saa täpselt aru, milles viga, aga tundub asi hakkas pihta peale seda kui ma järjekordselt olin ta vindoosa masinasse ühendanud ( et filmi hDragonist tümmata, linuxis hDragon ei tööta), olin ka varem seda teinud ja probleeme pole olnud, aga miongil ajal hakkas selline jama, et enam ei ketas ei avanenud minu linuxiga masinas, ja vindoosa masinas samuti. Vindoosas kirjutab, et ( ega minu inglise arusaamine pole just suurem asi aga vist umbes nii ) on leitud uus raudvara aga devaiss ründab ja Windows ei saa seda avada. Linuxis ei kirjuta midagi, lihtsalt ketas ei avane. Muidugi on see ketas mul põrutada ja raputada saanud, aga mis kõige imelikum- aeg.ajalt ikkagi käima saab. Mingil ajal avastasin , et kui liigutasin ketta ja läpaka vahelist USB kaablit, ketas kadus, ketast ei liigutanud. mudisin jälle kaablit- ketas tuli tagasi. Töö juures proovisin ühe fotoka sobilke otstega kaabliga- ja hopa asi töötas nagu siili, igaks juhuks kontrolli mõttes ühendasin lahti ja jälle tagasi . Ilusasti võttis jälle ketta külge, mingit problemit. Mõtlesin, et asi kaablis ( kass närinud, või miskit, aga hambajälgi pole)) ostsin uue kaabli, anti mingi ilgelt pikk juhe, sellega ketas ainult tiksuma jäigi. Pärast vana originaalkaabliga ja peale mitmekordseid sisse-välja ühendamisi ja ketta raputamisi ja koputamisi ketas ikkagi tööle hakkab. Ja naljakas on veel see, et tundub nagu asi kellaajast sõltuks- ennem kella 11 öösel ketast külge ei saa!
Mitte ei saa aru, milles siis asi tegelikult on?
Kas võib abi olla ketta puhastamisest-tühjendamisest.? 160 GB ne ketas, vaba ruumi veel 50 GB.
Naljakas ja pikk jutt sai vist, aga tõesti ei saa aru milles asi. Vaja uus ketas osta?
Edit: ja imelik on veel see , et varem, kui asi töötas probleemidetta, viskas ühendmisel desktopile ikooni - folder 160 GB media- või midagi sellist, aga nüüd kui õnnestub ühendada näitab ainult Placese all ketta olemasolu.

| Tiksumine viitab tõsisele riistvaraveale, lugemispea ei suuda end korralikult positsioneerida. Igaks juhuks võid ketta taha ühendada ja vaadata, mida siis käsk "sudo fdisk -l" ütleb.

vist ikka ketas ise on nässus. Kui se jama hakkas, et enam ei haakinud külge, siis ma ju teda ika päris kõvsti raputasin ja koputanud olen ja isegi natuke tahtlikult kukutanud nii erinevate nurkade peale ca 50 cm. kõrguselt. No ei teadnud enam, mida teha et ********** tööle hakkaks

See näitab, et hetkel on ta initsialiseeritud ja valmis kasutamiseks. Nii et kui ketta peal midagi olulist on, siis kiiresti koopia ja seejärel juba kettale diagnostka peale. Kukutamised on muidugi piisav "diagnostika", et ketast enam mitte usaldada.

Ketas on persses ja jutul lõpp, viska metsa oma pekstud ja tambitud ketas ära kasuta seda enam jääd oma viimastest andmetest ilma
Ma ei saa aru, kust inimesed võtavad et põrutatud/raputatud/loobitud ketas peaks toimima perfektselt... Kettad kui sellised on väga õrnad asjad jäta see omale meelde kui järgmine kord sellise jutuga lagedale tuled!

| no mis te nüüd riidlete niimoodi! ma olin ju täitsa endast välja viidud- tahtsin filmi vaadata, aga ei saanud, ja peale neid raputamisi ja koputamisi ta ju hakkas tööle. Aga see selleks, ega poleks tohtinud jah niimoodi teha. Nüüd olen targem. Ütleme, et viskasingi metsa selle minema. Ostsin täna uue ketta 320 GB. ostsin eraldi ketta ja selle nn. case, koos selle kiibi ja plaadikesega. noh poes formaaditi ära, proovisime nii minu vana skeemiga ja minu juhtmetega ja igasuguseid eri variante, lõpuks jäi mulje, et asi ainult oma originaal juhtme ja skeemiga tööle hakkas, kusjuures juhtmel oli 2 USB otsa ja mõlemad pidid sisse pistetud olema, siis hakkas tööle. Müüa arvas, et toidet jääb ühega väheseks. On see normaalne? Mul oli juba kõrini seal passimisest (oodata kuni formaaditi) ja proovimisest ja kogu sellest jamast ja ostsingi mõlemad ära, nii ketta kui selle case koos skeemijupikesega. Müüja küsis, et kas on vaja karbi sisse panna, või ehk võtan niisama, pistan kohe taskusse, ma tahtsin ikka karbiga saada, aga siis tal tuli midagi vahele ja mul oli kah pea laiali otsas ja nii ma võtsingi selle ilma karbita ja juhet ei märganud kah kaaa võtta. Nüüd kodus oma vanade juhtmetega proovides asi ikkagi käima ei lähe! Vaja homme juhet nõudma minna, või annan selle krempeli neile tagasi ja ostan ikka juba valmis komplektse ketta.

Kõvaketta magnetraja laius on umbes 200-250 nm. Nähtava valguse lainepikkus on 2-3 korda suurem. Nii täpselt on vaja lugemispäid positsioneerida, nii et ei maksa pahandada, kui ka pärast viie cm kõrguselt kukutamist lugemisega hakkama ei saa. Kui mina poemüüja oleks, ei võtaks ma ilma karbita taskus kantud ketast enam tagasi.

Siis jääb suht kindlalt toidet väheks. Kõige rohkem on vaja toidet siis, kui ketas ennast käima tõmbab.

pika kaabli vahele toppimisel pigem ka asi selles, et toide polnud piisav.. ega neid otsi seal naljalt kaks pole..
diagnostika jaoks on smartmontools ja graafiliseks väljundiks sellele gsmartcontrol - sellega peaksid saama vaadata, kas kettal on esinenud vigu toimimises.. muidugi kõigepealt anna kettale piisavalt toidet, tühja akuga autot ju ei käivita, miks peaks pooletoobine toide ketast ringi ajama?

| Ok. jälle natuke targem. Aga sain täna oma juhtme ja ülejäänud asjad kah sealt poest ikka kätte. Hakkasin algul küll pakkuma, et ehk võtavad tagasi ja ostan sealt ühe valmis ketta- jäi silma sellises pehmemas korpuses ja peal kirjutas kah et mingid US Army põrutustestid läbind jne. Aga müüa kiitis ka seda olemasolevat varianti, mis eile ostsin, väga heaks ja poes tema õige juhtmega veelkord proovides läks nüüd asi ka ühe otsaga käima ja kõik tundub OK. olevat. Luban, et edaspidi püüan selle kettaga väga õrnalt ringi käia!

Lisainfoks veel seda, et kui USB hosti kontroller ei suuda piisavat toidet tagada, siis peaks kernel oma logisse ka vastava teate saatma.
Ei suutnud küll riistvara puudumisel sinu juhtumit täpselt korrata, ent siiski siin on üks näide, milles toiteprobleemidest teavitatakse.
Antud juhtumil ei suuda (ei taha?) Apple USB klaviatuur tagada piisavat toidet USB 2.0 mälupulgale, mille tulemusel ilmub kerneli logisse selline jutt:
