LinuxQuestions.org korraldas oma kasutajate seas küsitluse, et välja selgitada erinevaid programme, operatsioonisüsteeme jne, mis kasutajatele kõige rohkem 2007 aastal meeldisid ja mis nende meelest edasi arenesid. Näiteks uuriti, milline on kõige parem Linuxi distributsioon, milline on parim andmebaas, töölaud jne jne. Nimekiri on üsna pikk. Siinkohal ei hakka kõiki tulemusi ära tõlkima vaid kopeerin need siia:

Iga hea linuxil saadava programmi kohta oleks nagu oma kategooria. 
Üllatavad olid ainult Eclipse ja Python.
Kõige väiksem üllatus oli FireFox ja OOO.

Et kasutatakse siis ikkagi Kubuntut? Ja muidugi on Ubuntu suuresti siiski hype...

No vb kasutatakse ubuntut, aga KDE'd kasutavad ka paljud teised distrod ja nõnda saab GNOME ikkagi ära.
Ubuntu populaarsus mind küll ei üllata. Seda on nii palju reklaamitud ja tastua jagatud ja kehv ta kah pole. Ubuntu on paljudele ainus distro, millest nad üldse kuulnud on.
