Viimasel ajal on saanud mitmeid distributsioone katsetada. Üllatus oli see, et arvuti korpus läks tavapärasest väga soojaks, kui sai installeerida Ubuntu 9.04.

Mandrivaga seda probleemi ei olnud, aga mulle see distributsiooni ei sobinud. Sai siis uuesti Ubunut peale panna, aga seekord 8.04. Ikka kuumenes üle. Järgmisena läks openSuse peale. Arvuti ilusti jahe, aga nüüd on tulnud mingi imelik kõvaketta "plõksimine". Installeeritud on ka Vista ja vahelduva eduga ka Windows 7, aga seal otseselt midagi taolist pole täheldanud. (Arvuti Dell Inspiron 1525). Probleemi otseselt praegu ei ole, aga lihtsalt üks tähelepanek.

kõvaketta plõksumist saad vaadata nii, et installeerid endale smartmontoolsi, ei kujuta ette kuidas see opensuses käib. Ja siis smartctl -a /dev/XXX

Ventilaator ja avad ikka tolmust puhtad?

Ma linuxi alal suhteliselt algaja.
Installisin omale smartmontoolsi. Kopeerisin terminali siis selle käsu: smartctl -a /dev/ aga ei tundndu käsku.

smartctl'i kasutamiseks pead olema root kasutaja õigustes, ehk siis eelnevalt andma käsu su ja sisestama root kasutaja parooli

Possible solution (Linux)

Temporary relief has been seen by using hdparm to reset the drive. But note the warning in the hdparm man page indicating that it is a dangerous operation. This is very likely due to the possibility of losing data in the write cache not yet stored to the hard drive. This would be dependent upon the particular hard drive. When used in the following to stop the clicking I have not seen any data loss. YMMV.

# hdparm /dev/hda
# sync
# sleep 5
# sync
# hdparm -w /dev/hda

The clicking noise apparently occurs when the drive is parking its heads (and ramping them off the drive surface in the process) after a timeout after the last disk access. Try turning off power management for the drive; that should stop the drive from parking the heads except when turning off:

# hdparm -B 255 /dev/hda

You can also try

# hdparm -B 254 /dev/hda

200 juures mõtlesin seda, et panen ketta voolumajanduse 200 peale..
seda siis jällegi su õigustes

hdparm -B 200 /dev/sda

kui ikka järgi ei jää siis aitab täiesti väljalülitamine
hdparm -B 255 /dev/sda

see, et ta sul närvidele käima hakkas on kõikseväiksem mure, igal kettal on load cycle antud ja kui see drastiliselt kasvab siis peagi on su ketas katski..
Tavaliselt on taluvus ikka sinna 300 000 kuni 800 000 vahele

Kas see viimane (20442) on kõikidede klikkide arv, mis on üldse aset leidnud, aga mida see 193 tähendab.

20 442 on jah siiamaani tehtud klikkide arv..

pane see käsk ilma toru ja grepita siis saad sealt muudki huvitavat

Kasutan nüüd Ubuntu 8.04(.3 LTS) pikemat aega lauaarvutis. Soov oleks seda käsku kasutada:

Kui käsu sisestan, siis ei juhtu midagi. Ilmselt kasutan käsku kuidagi valesti.

No aga proovi ilma toruta, siis näed, kas ja mida üldse smartctl vastab. Mina pakuks, et vaevalt küll Sul sääl /dev/hda-d üldse on, vast ikka /dev/sda on esimene kõvakas.
